This introductory course, exclusively for SOMA students , offers an opportunity to gain foundational skills in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS). Sponsored by Butterfly IQ, the course focuses on building familiarity with essential ultrasound techniques, preparing you to incorporate POCUS into your future medical practice.

What You’ll Learn

• Focused Training: Discover key ultrasound applications with hands-on experience in:
  • Cardiac Ultrasound – Begin to recognize basic cardiac function and spot essential findings.
  • Lung Ultrasound – Learn to identify core lung conditions, including pleural effusion and pneumothorax.
  • FAST Exam – Practice the basics of the Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma.
