Course Highlights:

1. Basic Ultrasound Physics and Knobology

Start your journey with a solid foundation in ultrasound physics. Learn how to handle the probe with confidence, understanding the essential principles that underpin effective ultrasound imaging.

2. Vascular Access

This is the core of our training. Gain expertise in placing ultrasound-guided IVs through extensive practice sessions. Using both live models and ultrasound gel models, you will master:

• Venous Anatomy of the Upper Extremity: Identify and understand the key structures.
• Ideal Target Vessel: Learn how to choose the optimal vessel for IV placement.
• IV Placement Techniques: Practice multiple methods for expertly placing IVs under ultrasound guidance.
• IV Integrity Checks: Discover how to use ultrasound to verify if an IV has blown or assess its integrity.

3. Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) Collection

Many institutions allow nurses to draw ABGs. This course will teach you how to utilize ultrasound for precise and efficient ABG collection.

4. Bladder Volume Assessment

No bladder scanner? No problem! Learn to accurately determine bladder volume using ultrasound techniques.
